ExaltSync™ From Exalt Communications Advances Next Generation Wireless Backhaul to Enable High-Density Collocation Without Interference
Industry-Leading and Proven Synchronization Technology Enables Close Proximity Collocation of Multiple Exalt Radios to Reduce Carrier OPEX and Maximize Available Spectrum
CAMPBELL, Calif., Nov. 26, 2007 – Exalt Communications, the leading innovator of next generation wireless backhaul systems, announced the field-proven use of ExaltSync in multiple customer deployments. ExaltSync enables high-density system collocation of multiple Exalt radios providing the ability to mount radios and antennas in close proximity and frequency without self-interference.
Exalt radios using ExaltSync can operate using native IP and native TDM on the same channel simultaneously and at maximum capacity, thereby reducing tower and rooftop space requirements and operational costs. Collocated Exalt radios using ExaltSync are widely deployed in a variety of applications, including high-capacity mobile backhaul, video surveillance for public safety, and various enterprise backhaul environments.
Historically, congestion and interference prompted carriers and enterprises to move antennas further apart, reduce transmission power, or completely abandon a frequency. ExaltSync provides unsurpassed capability to eliminate interference and deliver high capacity wireless transmission for up to 6:1 channel re-use for maximum spectrum utilization. These unique synchronization capabilities as well as other advanced spectrum utilization techniques such as software selectable channel bandwidths and 1MHz high resolution tuning are proven to provide unprecedented backhaul system performance in high-capacity hubs and repeater sites, campuses, and crowded towers and rooftops, where previous designs were impossible because of self-interference.
“ExaltSync was an important part of our initial radio designs that continue to lead the innovation curve for next generation wireless backhaul,” said Amir Zoufonoun, chief executive officer of Exalt Communications. “The unique synchronization capability that we developed is proven and widely deployed in a variety of applications. We are the first and only company to offer high-capacity sync with native IP and native TDM support, and thereby enable collocation of multiple Exalt radios in the most congested bands, while running at full capacity.”
